Wear a thick rubber band around my wrist pull it back and snap it. Not advocating for hurting yourself, but ties a negative to the behavior.

If you know you get trigger in certain places or around certain people build plans around that to remain "safe"
Reach out to someone
Whether sharing the specifics or not, just reach out to someone. Call a partner, friend, or family member and either discuss your current trigger or any other topic to distract yourself.
